Abstract
"Dementia is a progressive disease that encompasses a multitude of changes in the body and mind. Individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) may face changes affecting their ability to engage in familiar roles, routines, activities of daily living, leisure, and community engagement. As individuals with ADRD progress throughout each of the stages of dementia, communication may become increasingly difficult, which can subsequently lead to frustration, agitation, depression and other forms of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD)."
