Abstract
"Adolescents are faced with one of the most difficult and vulnerable stages of life. During this stage they are faced with the psychosocial developmental task of forming a self-identity2. Self-identity is an overarching concept that includes one’s goals, values, experiences, and social aspects that provide a sense of direction and meaning to one’s life7,2,1. In response to this need to form a self-identity, teenagers tend to explore different roles, activities, and behaviors5. In doing this, they are particularly vulnerable to being influenced by peers, which can ultimately lead to peer pressure and participation in substance abuse, alcohol, consumption, or other delinquent behaviors3."
