Abstract
"This final report highlights a doctoral student’s 14 week doctoral capstone project on the developmental processes of a student run clinic with a focus on community outreach in Hampden County, MA. The idea of developing a probono student run occupational therapy (OT) clinic was proposed and accepted by four occupational therapy students to complete as their doctoral experiential capstone project. Students selected key components that were crucial in the development of the occupational therapy clinic, also known as the B.E.A.R. P.A.W. (Bringing Equity, Accessibility, and Rehabilitation to People Achieving Wellness) House, on campus. These four areas included community outreach, reimbursement, funding, and recruitment and referral. The information below focuses on the component of community outreach and how it plays a role in the development of an occupational therapy (OT) clinic on campus."
