Abstract
"This doctoral experiential capstone aimed to develop a pro bono, student-run academic clinic in Hampden County, Massachusetts with a focus on funding. This researcher learned comprehensive funding procedures that are involved in starting a pro bono clinic including, but not limited to, grant writing, fundraiser development, donation solicitation, and creating an estimated budget. The long-term vision of the Bringing Equity, Accessibility, and Rehabilitation to People Achieving Wellness (BEAR PAW) House is to develop into an interprofessional clinic to meet a variety of client needs within one location. Based on extensive research, it was found that the community currently faces significant barriers to accessing healthcare."
