Abstract

"Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strives to build emotional intelligence to cope with the difficulties in life such as recognize/manage emotions, solve problems, make responsible decisions, and build positive relationships. Teachers are the engine that drives SEL supports in classrooms, thus their competence in delivering SEL will strongly influence their students. This research aimed to understand teachers’ perspectives on SEL for 4th grade students. Innovative occupational therapy (OT) interventions were developed through research, observation of students, and collaboration with teachers at Glickman Elementary School in Springfield, MA."
