Abstract
"By 2030, 20% of the population will consist of adults aged 65+(CDC, 2021). 87% of these individuals intend to age in their home and avoid displacement (Davis 2021). This increase in aging population and desire to age in place requires preparation due to an impending increase in need for healthcare, caregivers, and accessible homes. This study encompasses the efficacy of an aging in place educational program on home dwelling senior citizens, presented to four senior centers. 18 participants aged 74-86 completed a pre and post survey, respectively before and after watching an evidence based educational program on aging in place. Results disclose that confidence level and knowledge increased after watching the program, yet willingness to make structural changes to the home decreased."
