Abstract
"Social-emotional learning (SEL) is instrumental to positive youth development. Yorke et al. (2021) suggests the COVID-19 pandemic emphasized the significance SEL plays in children’s mental health. However, Pondiscio (2021) advised that SEL curricula implementation fundamentally altered the roles of teachers and disregarded the impact of having non-mental health professionals in charge of children’s mental hygiene. Occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs), address social-emotional health in practice as it is a subset of the occupation of health management."
