Abstract

Although many children with autism attend public schools (U.S Department of Education, 2001), mere proximity to peers may be insufficient to promote positive peer interactions (Myles et al., 1993). We investigated the effects of behavioral skills training to teach cooperative play skills with two children with autism in a public school. BST was effective in teaching initiation and turn taking in the context of two cooperative games that the participants played together.
