Abstract
"LightHouse Holyoke (LH) is a personalized educational institution located in Holyoke, Massachusetts. A Team of doctor of occupational therapy students from Western New England University was immersed in the culture and daily operations of the organization to assess LH’s needs and continue to develop a program to address those needs. This report is an overview of this researcher’s Doctoral Experiential (DEx) at LightHouse Holyoke. Through observations, research, and personal experiences within the organization, the DEx Team identified that the organization needed additional multi-level support on-site. This researcher focused their DEx project on meeting their various needs and using harm reduction strategies to address teen dating violence. As a result of this experience, a dating violence protocol was developed in light of the LightHouse mission and Harm Reduction principles, PROTECT, EMPOWER, & ACT."
