Abstract

This book chapter deals generally with actions, and defenses thereto, based upon false arrest and/or imprisonment. These charges may be brought against officers and private individuals making or causing the arrest or restraint to be made, and all others who participate therein or proximately contribute thereto. This chapter also deals with the vicarious liability of principals and employers for the acts of their agents and employees.
