Abstract

On March 12, 2013, Penelope Andrews, president and dean of Albany Law School, was a Clason speaker at Western New England University School of Law. She spoke about ways to approach gender equality and women's human rights in a variety of political, legal, and cultural contexts using chapters from her book "From Cape Town to Kabul : rethinking strategies for pursuing women's human rights" as a starting point. She examines the possibilities and limitations of feminist legal theory in religious, indigenous, and othered communities.
